Beginner Support
Dancing can be intimidating when you start! That’s why we’re helping connect beginners with experienced dancers who can:
- answer questions about dance related things
- tell you about places to dance to live music, dance events, jazz music recs, where to get dance clothes/shoes, carpooling etc
- help you try out what you learned in class
- introduce you to other dancers
Look for people with an “ask me about swing dance stuff” pin at the social dances, or send us a DM on Instagram or Facebook
Lindy Bombs
lindy bomb (verb) to swing dance as a group in a public place where it’s not normally done such as at a restaurant, park, mall, etc.
Every fourth Saturday of the month, we’re hosting a free* outdoor pop-up DJed dance!
Follow us on Instagram or Facebook for updates about this month’s location and time. Bring your sunscreen, snacks, friends, dogs, kids, and some water!
*suggested donation of $5 for the Lindy CIRCLE fund if you’re able to contribute (this goes to things like snacks at our social events, hygiene kits at the social dances, and more)
Lindy Lounge: Our Dancer Socials
Want to get to know other dancers without yelling over loud jazz music?
Join us for our upcoming socials: in 2023, we’re planning a cookout, a beach bonfire, a hike and more!
Let us know if you have suggestions for where we can host our next event and what we could do! Ideas for affordable/cheap activities where people can talk to each other are welcome!
Clothing Swap
We hosted our first Clothing Swap this year in January at Firehouse Swing!
Thanks so much to all the generous dancers who donated dance clothes and shoes they weren’t using anymore so that they could find a new home in our community.
Didn’t get to donate this year? Don’t take your dance clothes to Goodwill: hold onto them until our next swap!
Follow us on Instagram or Facebook to find out about the next swap – this event will happen once or twice a year depending on demand.
